About Us

SayHi.co.uk, a forum-focused social network featuring over 900 Forums, music videos, movietrailers, UK City-Data & articles has just been launched in June 2008.  The initial inspiration of the website stemmed after its founder Suzanne McNab viewed the film Serendipity a few years ago.

Suzanne stated "I wanted to develop a website that would easily enable people from around the world and different parts of the UK to Say Hi and connect to family, friends and others either living in or from the UK, just like in the movie mentioned above.  In today's high tech age, it should  be really easy to find someone again, especially if you've forgotten or don't know someone's name that you've just met.  We were also lucky that the Domain Say Hi .co.uk   was still available, as most of the really good domain names just aren’t available now.  The name Say Hi seemed to fit with exactly what the site would be about - enabling people to Say Hi to others for any reason."

SayHi.co.uk will be totally free for members.  Self funded from its parent company One & Three Ltd, the site will be funded through advertising revenue.  Say Hi  has also been fortunate to partner with some of the major record labels, such as SonyBMG which allow their members to share, email and embed the code for the music videos to their own blog or site.  Other partners include FHM and Variety and some other companies who provide us with up to date celebrity information direct from Hollywood. If the Say Hi model works, we may be entering a new era where

People can SayHi to anyone-anywhere-anytime in the UK

if we can help people to do this then we’ve accomplished our aim.

Other ideas behind the site came when my friend returned home to the UK from a gap year in South America. Although she was able to contact her immediate family and most close friends through her email account, she couldn't find a way to send a message or photo back home to everyone else that she knew; schoolteachers, neighbours and other members of her extended family who don't use facebook, bebo and myspace.

Lost Holiday Romance

I also heard on the radio someone had returned from holiday and had contacted the local radio station, to see if they could help her find the love of her life that she had met on holiday, she'd lost his contact details travelling home.  Later on that same day, one of my sister's friend's was returning to the same place for a night out that she'd been to the previous week, (to see if the person she'd liked the week before was going to be there again).  Unfortunately, he wasn't there that night.  There may be other people in the UK and worldwide who are trying to find someone or just want toSayHi to family, friends, loved ones back home, people that they don't even know yet or people that they've just met. People like my sister's friend, who'd  seen someone she liked but had been too shy to SayHi.

Connect with others, Discover & Share Information

To help enable others to SayHi our mission statement below states

We want to help people when they may not  know how to get back in touch with others from the UK for any reason:

  • Firstly our site has a really easy to use messageboard enabling members to post messages home and keep in touch with  family and friends in specific regions of  the UK. Our site has been designed using specially developed software.
  • Secondly to help people when they've tried many other ways to connect with others or find someone without any success
  • Thirdly to help people ask questions or find out, discover and share information from people who already live in the UK.

If you want to get in touch with us, please contact us at admin@sayhi.co.uk
