Glasgow Airport officially opened in May 1966 and handles over 7.9 Million passengers a year. To help plan your route before you arrive you may wish to use  Transport Direct's Door to Door Planner.  
Black Hackney Cabs to Glasgow City Centre cost approx £20-£30. Bus Stops are located just past the entrance to the airport. There are also a variety of Car Hire Firms and car parks. After the recent Terror Scare at Glasgow Airport, you are not allowed to drop off or pick up passengers at the entrance of the Airport. The multi Storey Car Park beside the airport has a drop off point inside. There is a lift which takes you to the floor where you can walk across the walkway into the airport.
